Dear Chapter Presidents and Advisors,
Welcome to another PBL year! The state council has been hard at work preparing to make this another great year for PA PBL. We would like to take this opportunity to make you aware of a few important dates and ask for your assistance on some key actions. First, please be advised that the national office has requested that due be remitted by Thursday October 20! Please register your members as soon as possible. Next, on Saturday October 22 PA PBL is hosting a state wide day of community service. The State Council is encouraging all chapter to volunteer in their local communities on that date. A few suggested services activities include, but are not limited to, collections for food banks, clothing drive, participation in an awareness walk, or volunteering at a local charitable organization. Please advise the State Council of your planned service activity, and provide us with your photos so we can post them on our social media accounts.
Additionally if your chapter has not already complete the chapter contact sheet, please send it in as soon as possible. It can be submitted via email to firstname.lastname@example.org. A sample of the form is included in the welcome packet which was emailed out to all presidents, and is also available on our website at papbl.org. This year the State Council is under taking an initiative to increase our social media presence, particularly with LinkedIn. We are asking all chapters to encourage their members to join our official LinkedIn Page (PA Phi Beta Lambda) as well as encourage your alumni to join our official Alumni LinkedIn Page (PA Phi Beta Lambda Alumni). We are specifically interested in growing the PA PBL alumni network through our LinkedIn Page. Eventually our hopes are to encourage our alumni to join the PA PBL professional division. Every professional division member assist the state chapter as well as your local chapter.
Lastly, please take a moment to visit the revised PA PBL website. Special Thanks to Jennifer Johnson who has taken on the role of State Web Master and has done an excellent job in revising the state website. We welcome your comments and suggestions on how the website can be made more useful to our members. The State Council is planning many great events for PA PBL that we hope your chapter takes full advantage. If at any time you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact either of us.
