State Executive Council

Lisa Beers
President
Bloomsburg University

Lisa Beers is currently a senior at Bloomsburg University majoring in Accounting with a Concentration in Fraud Examination. She is a 2006 graduate of Northampton Senior High School in Northampton Pennsylvania. This is Lisa’s seventh year as a FBLA-PBL member. She has served as Reporter and is currently the Treasurer of the Bloomsburg University Phi Beta Lambda chapter. She also is the president of the Presidential Leadership Program and a student member of the Association for Fraud Examiners. After graduation Lisa plans to work for an accounting firm and obtain her CPA. In her spare time, she likes to be with her family and friends and enjoys hiking, Starbucks and reading.





Holly Schoch

Holly Schoch is currently a sophomore at Bucknell University, majoring in International Relations and Spanish with a minor in Italian. She is Vice President of Bucknell's PBL chapter and is a 6 year member of FBLA-PBL. In addition to PBL, Holly enjoys writing young adult novels and enjoyed the pleasure of having one of her manuscripts published during her junior year of high school. After graduation, Holly intends to attend law school to pursue international law. In her spare time, Holly loves spending time with friends and family, reading and writing, and also loves anything involving the outdoors.




Michelle Havrilla

Michelle Havrilla is a sophomore Management and German double major at Bucknell University. During her freshman year, Michelle charted Bucknell’s Chapter of Phi Beta Lambda and currently holds the role of President. Michelle has been actively involved with FBLA-PBL since her Freshman year of high school. Outside of PBL, Michelle has competed in various Business Competitions through Bucknell University. After graduation, Michelle plans on attending law school and eventually starting her own business. In her spare time, Michelle loves to run and participate in marathons. Michelle loves spending time with family and friends and of course going out for ice cream! Michelle is very excited to work with her fellow members and officers to strengthen PA PBL’s outstanding organization.




Chuck DeCarlo

Chuck DeCarlo is a senior at Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP), and is pursuing dual degrees in Accounting and Finance and a minor in Economics. He is in the Eberly College of Business Honors Program. Chuck has been an active member of his local chapter for four years. He is employed on campus as a Community Assistant. Chuck is also a member of IUP’s Student Accounting Association, and is also and DJ and Sports Analyst for WIUP-FM, IUP’s radio station. After graduation, Chuck plans to work for an accounting firm and receive his CPA certificate. In his spare time, he enjoys bowling, golfing, and playing on his Xbox.




Michelle Hovanetz

Michelle Hovanetz is currently a sophomore Marketing major and Theatre minor at Bloomsburg University. She presently holds the position of PBL chapter Historian at Bloomsburg and has served as both FBLA chapter President and Public Relations Chair during her senior year of high school at Hazleton Area. This marks her sixth year of involvement in FBLA-PBL. In addition, she is an active member of the Bloomsburg University Honors Program and the Bloomsburg Players theatre group. Upon graduation, Michelle plans to pursue an MBA in Entertainment Business. In her spare time, she enjoys acting, dancing, watching movies, and spending time with friends and family. Michelle looks forward to meeting as many members as possible and to working with her fellow officers to make this a great year for PA PBL.





Barbra Gehan

Barbra has been in education for 34 years teaching all levels from early childhood to adults. She has served as Senior Educational Specialist Consultant in the corporate world where she trained end user, wrote train the trainer manuals and help implemented new software applications for corporations. Barbra has been a Business Analyst for a financial company where she helped designed, developed, and implemented software applications. She holds a degree in education from Penn State and is a Certified Instructional Designer and Developer. She enjoys spending time with her husband, their four daughters and three grandchildren as well as boating.





Bob Kollar

Bob Kollar is in his second year of involvement with PBL, which includes serving as chapter advisor at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh and becoming a member of the Pennsylvania State Executive Council in September 2006. Bob is currently an assistant professor of accounting at Duquesne University’s schools of business, and is also the director of the graduate business school’s Master of Accountancy program. He has been a CPA for the past twenty-five years.

Prior to joining Duquesne University as a full-time faculty member, Bob began his career with and spent 14 years working for the international professional services firm of Ernst & Young where he was a senior manager in the audit practice. After leaving Ernst & Young, Bob worked with the regional accounting firm of Schneider Downs & Co. for approximately five years as a senior manager also in the audit practice. In 2001, Bob and his wife Kellie, also a CPA, started their own CPA firm, Kuhleman Kollar & Associates CPAs, and Bob still assists some companies with their financial reporting needs in addition to his teaching and administrative responsibilities at Duquesne University. Bob was a member of FBLA during high school.





Heather Deakin

Heather has been involved with PBL since 2004. She has helped out with set-up and proctoring exams for the last two years at the State Leadership Conferences. Heather graduated with honors, from Lansdale School of Business with and Associate's Degree in Accounting Management in 2006. She went on to pursue her Bachelor's Degree from Strayer University, and graduated with honors in 2008. Heather is employed full-time as a Staff Accountant/Payroll Processor with Meeco, Inc. and Tiger Optics, a manufacturing company located in Warrington, PA. She is also pursuing her Master's in Accounting and Financial Management with and emphasis on her Certified Public Accounting Certification, from the Keller Graduate School of Management with Devry University. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, their friends and family. She enjoys ATV recreation, camping, the mountains, and scenic driving.
